Ruby Flash Glass Toothpick Holder Vintage 1906

This is an early American pressed glass ruby flash Toothpick Holder made by Duncan & Miller.  Stained in a beautiful deep red, with the button arches pattern and Star of David on the bottom. The gold inscription reads Ellen Boberg 1906.
Ruby glass was popular between 1891 and 1920. The Duncan & Miller Glass Company was establish in 1865 in Washington, Pennsylvania and became well known for the quality and brilliance of their glass.
Mugs and cups like this were sold as souvenirs at state fairs and are often in scribed with a place name and date. Those with names were given as gifts marking a special occasion like a birthday, or wedding. Now these ruby flash glass souvenir glasses are highly collectible.  The Ruby Flash is completely intact except for one Rim Point and some Pinpoint Depletions of Ruby Flash.
